Phase 1 gate step 4 failed: setting Enabled = 0 to take a node out of service
returns 422 ClusterEnabledNodeCountMismatch, because
DraftValidator.ValidateClusterTopology requires the enabled-node count to equal
ServerCluster.NodeCount. On a Warm/Hot pair — every cluster on the rig, and
every cluster in the target topology — Enabled can therefore never be the
maintenance hatch. The plan called step 4 "the check that makes step 3
acceptable to ship", so Task 3's behaviour change was not shippable as it stood:
a node down for maintenance would block every deployment to its cluster.
The two rules were each reasonable and contradictory together — the validator
reads Enabled as "part of the declared topology", Phase 1 additionally read it
as "expect an ack". Split the meanings rather than weaken either rule:
Enabled part of the declared topology (validator, untouched)
MaintenanceMode expected to participate now (coordinator + reconciler)
Rejected alternatives: counting configured rather than enabled nodes (drops the
guard against booting a pair into InvalidTopology); downgrading the rule to a
warning (weakens a deploy gate for everyone); shipping with no hatch.
Sabotage: dropping !n.MaintenanceMode from the coordinator query turns the new
test red. It also asserts both nodes remain Enabled, so the fix cannot quietly
regress to disabling the row after all.
Configuration.Tests 95/95, ControlPlane.Tests 101/101, solution builds clean.

ClusterNode.AkkaPort and the node's own Cluster:Port are the same fact in two
places and nothing made them agree. Phase 2 dials the row instead of gossiping,
so a node binding 4054 while its row says 4053 becomes unreachable from central
— and the symptom is a silent absence of acks rather than an error. That is the
shape of the Modbus/ModbusTcp and TwinCat/Focas drifts already in this repo.
Since Phase 1 also made the rows the deploy path's expected-ack set, drift
already costs a failed deployment today.
Implemented as the plan's preferred option: an admin-role singleton comparing
rows against the membership an admin node can already see, rather than each
driver node asserting its own row — Phase 4 removes the driver nodes' ConfigDb
connection, so a self-assertion written there would have to be deleted again.
Three shapes, split by severity: a row whose dial target disagrees with its own
NodeId and a running node with no row are Errors; an enabled row with no
matching member is a Warning, because a node down for maintenance is a
legitimate state. Findings are logged only when the set changes — a check that
reprints the same warning every sweep trains operators to filter it out.
Documented limitation: Phase 2 must revisit this. Once the fleet splits into
one mesh per cluster an admin node cannot see site members, and every site row
would report EnabledRowNotInCluster forever.
Sabotage: removing the change-detection guard turns the repeat test red.

Cuts ConfigPublishCoordinator's last genuinely mesh-bound dependency: central
must be able to name the nodes a deployment is for without sharing a gossip
ring with them, because Phase 2 splits the fleet into one mesh per Cluster.
Behaviour change, confirmed before implementing: a configured node that is
switched off is now expected, so deploying while it is down fails at the apply
deadline instead of sealing green without it. Under the membership rule the
operator was told the fleet was deployed when it was not. ClusterNode.Enabled
= 0 is the maintenance hatch, and the deadline log now names the silent nodes
and points at that hatch — "4/5 acks landed" would leave an operator reading
logs on five machines.
Two assumptions are now documented on the class rather than left implicit:
every ClusterNode row is a driver node (the DB has no role column and
deliberately does not gain one — it would drift from Cluster:Roles), and
ServerCluster.Enabled is not consulted because nothing else consults it.
Dropped from the plan: cluster-scope filtering of the expected set. There is
no cluster-scoped deployment to filter on — Deployment has no ClusterId,
ConfigComposer always snapshots the whole DB, and ResolveClusterScope is
node-side self-scoping of a fleet-wide artifact.
Positive control: reverting DiscoverDriverNodes to the membership scan turns
three of the four new tests red. The fourth pins the seal-empty branch and is
documented as derivation-insensitive rather than left to look like coverage.

RedundancyStateActor derived the driver Primary from ClusterState.RoleLeader("driver").
Akka offers two different notions of a "first" member and they are not the same
one: role leader is the lowest-ADDRESSED Up member (host, then port), while
ClusterSingletonManager places singletons on the OLDEST — lowest up-number.
They agree on a freshly-formed cluster, which is why every existing test passed.
They diverge after any restart: the restarted node re-joins as the youngest while
keeping its address, so if it holds the lower address it becomes role leader while
the singletons stay put. The snapshot would then name a Primary that is not
hosting the work, and every Primary-gated surface follows it — inbound device
writes, native-alarm acks, the fleet-wide alerts emit, and the alarm-history
drain would all enable on the wrong node while the node actually running the
singletons stayed gated off.
BuildSnapshot now selects the oldest Up member carrying the driver role, matching
singleton placement. Leaving members are excluded: a node handing its singletons
over must not be named Primary.
NodeRedundancyState.IsRoleLeaderForDriver is renamed IsDriverPrimary, and
NodeHealthInputs.IsDriverRoleLeader likewise. Keeping the old names would have
left the wire contract asserting a derivation the code no longer uses — the same
drift that made this defect invisible.
Proven by a real two-node cluster rather than a mock. RedundancyPrimaryElectionTests
binds the first-joining node to the HIGHER port, so oldest and lowest-address name
different nodes, and includes a fixture assertion that the divergence actually
occurred — without it the real assertion could pass for the wrong reason. Positive
control: restoring the RoleLeader derivation turns exactly the two election tests
red while the fixture check stays green.
Runtime.Tests 440 passed, ControlPlane.Tests 82, Cluster.Tests 36.

Fix TESTS only (production already green) so the four in-scope test projects
compile + pass under the v3 dark address space:
- Core.Abstractions.Tests: drop AllowedNamespaceKinds/NamespaceKindCompatibility
from DriverTypeMetadata; rewrite EquipmentTagRefResolver tests to the single-func
RawPath-lookup contract (no parseRef/transient cache).
- Core.Tests: rewrite EquipmentNodeWalkerTests to EquipmentNamespaceContent(Areas,
Lines,Equipment,VirtualTags?,ScriptedAlarms?) — folders + VirtualTags +
ScriptedAlarms only; raw-tag variables dark (skipped Batch-4 placeholder). Drop
retired Equipment.DriverInstanceId.
- Runtime.Tests: rewrite golden corpus + TagConfigCorpusParityTests to the v3
RawPath/RawTagEntry round-trip (byte + TagConfigIntent parity; EquipmentTags dark).
Salvage VirtualTag + ScriptedAlarm artifact parity to the new Compose signature.
Retire the equipment-tag-materialization parity files (Array/Historize/Alias) and
the equipment-device-binding DeviceHost parity to documented skipped placeholders.
Skip 34 dark equipment-tag routing/value/alarm/write/discovery actor tests with a
shared DarkAddressSpaceReasons constant. Re-key cluster-scoped tests to v3 UNS
line->area attribution.
- ControlPlane.Tests: ConfigComposer round-trips re-keyed to RawFolder/Device (no
Namespaces); tag-config gate resolves driver via Device; deploy-gate collision test
re-keyed to UnsEffectiveNameCollision; drop retired BadCrossClusterNamespaceBinding
case.
The arch-review #10 sub-gap worried that per-instance ResilienceConfig never
reaches the runtime pipeline. The threading is in fact wired end-to-end (task #13):
ConfigComposer serialises the whole DriverInstance entity, so ResilienceConfig
rides the artifact into DriverInstanceSpec, which DriverHostActor layers onto the
driver's Polly pipeline. The only leg with no test was the real composer->artifact
serialization — the existing DeploymentArtifactTests hand-build the JSON.
Adds ResilienceConfig_survives_ConfigComposer_to_ParseDriverInstances_round_trip
(mirrors the DeviceHost round-trip guard): seeds a DriverInstance WITH a non-default
override + one WITHOUT, runs the real SnapshotAndFlattenAsync, and asserts
ParseDriverInstances recovers the override byte-for-byte (and null stays null).
Guards against a future projection / [JsonIgnore] silently reverting authored
resilience policy to tier defaults while hand-built artifact tests stay green.
ControlPlane.Tests ConfigComposerTests 6/6 green.
- OpcUaServer-002: HistoryRead-Events NumValuesPerNode==0 now maps to unbounded (int.MaxValue) instead of the backend default-cap sentinel; no Core.Abstractions contract change (+EventMaxEvents helper tests)
- OpcUaServer-004: EnsureAddressSpaceCreated guard on public mutators -> clear InvalidOperationException instead of bare NRE if called pre-start (+tests)
- OpcUaServer-003: Deferred (endUtc inclusive/exclusive needs live Wonderware boundary confirmation)
- Configuration-013: wire DraftValidator.ValidateClusterTopology into AdminOperationsActor deploy gate (read-only, no migration) (+2 tests)
Review at HEAD 7286d320. ControlPlane-001 (Medium): ConfigPublishCoordinator.HandleAck
now discards acks from nodes not in _expectedAcks (prevented premature SealDeployment) +
regression test. -002 (flipped-node log count), -003 (redundant mapper arms) tidied.
All five suppressed advisories are now resolved at baseline/resolved versions,
so every NuGetAuditSuppress is removed repo-wide:
- System.Security.Cryptography.Xml (GHSA-37gx-xxp4-5rgx / GHSA-w3x6-4m5h-cxqf)
-> fixed by the .NET 10 baseline (10.0.6)
- OPCFoundation Opc.Ua.Core (GHSA-h958-fxgg-g7w3) -> fixed at resolved 1.5.378.106
Two were still live and are now patched via direct security pins:
- OpenTelemetry.Api 1.9.0 -> 1.15.3 (GHSA-g94r-2vxg-569j) pinned in Cluster;
Runtime/ControlPlane/AdminUI + tests inherit via project reference
- Tmds.DBus.Protocol 0.20.0 -> 0.21.3 (GHSA-xrw6-gwf8-vvr9) pinned in Client.UI
Also correct the Historian sidecar runtime comments (x86 -> x64, matching the
csproj PlatformTarget). Solution audit: 0 vulnerable packages; full build clean.
T21: add an AdminUI path for acknowledging/shelving alarms that routes
through the admin-pinned AdminOperationsActor cluster singleton, which
republishes onto the same 'alarm-commands' DPS topic the OPC UA method
path (T18) and the engine subscriber (T19) use. The broadcast + the
ScriptedAlarmHostActor ownership filter handle cross-node routing, so
the singleton needs no knowledge of which node owns the alarm.
- Commons: AcknowledgeAlarmCommand/ShelveAlarmCommand (+ result records)
and a shared AlarmCommandsTopic const; ScriptedAlarmHostActor now
re-exports that const (mirrors the DriverControlTopic pattern).
- AdminOperationsActor: two handlers map the control-plane messages to
AlarmCommand (Acknowledge / OneShotShelve / TimedShelve / Unshelve,
threading User/Comment/UnshelveAtUtc) and publish via the DPS mediator.
- IAdminOperationsClient + AdminOperationsClient: typed Acknowledge/Shelve
ask wrappers mirroring StartDeploymentAsync.
- Alerts.razor: per-row DriverOperator-gated Ack/Shelve/Unshelve controls;
operator name from AuthenticationState. Timed-shelve datetime UI deferred.
- 5 TestKit tests (mediator-probe subscribed to alarm-commands) verifying
each kind's mapping + reply; 56/56 ControlPlane tests green.
Persist the canonical AuditOutcome and make structured audit rows visible.
- ConfigAuditLog gains a nullable Outcome column, stored as the AuditOutcome
enum member name (nvarchar(16), mirroring how AdminRole is persisted). The
AuditWriterActor flush now writes Outcome = evt.Outcome.ToString(). Nullable so
legacy rows and the bespoke stored-procedure path (no derived outcome) write
NULL.
- Migration 20260602135350_AddConfigAuditLogOutcome: additive nullable column,
no backfill. Up adds the column, Down drops it. Chains after
20260602112419_CanonicalizeAdminRoles; `dotnet ef migrations
has-pending-model-changes` is clean.
- ClusterAudit visibility fix: the page filtered solely on ClusterId, but the
structured AuditWriterActor path stamps NodeId (ClusterId null), so those rows
were invisible. Extracted ClusterAuditQuery.ForClusterAsync (shared by the page
and tests) which ORs in rows whose NodeId belongs to a node in the cluster —
membership resolved from ClusterNode (NodeId -> ClusterId). SP-path
ClusterId-stamped rows still match.
Tests: ControlPlane 45/45 (adds Outcome persistence + Denied-outcome asserts);
new Configuration ClusterAuditQueryTests 3/3 (both-paths visible, other-cluster
excluded, page-size cap); AdminUI 121/121. Configuration Unit suite is green on a
clean run (a pre-existing timing flake in ResilientConfigReaderTests, untouched
here, occasionally fails under parallel load and passes in isolation).
Deep-adopt the shared audit record. Deletes the bespoke 8-field positional
Commons AuditEvent and repoints the writer path at ZB.MOM.WW.Audit.AuditEvent
(0.1.0, feed-mapped via dohertj2-gitea). Adds the package reference to both
Commons and ControlPlane.
- AuditWriterActor now implements IAuditWriter: WriteAsync(evt, ct) is a
best-effort, never-throwing entry point that Self.Tell()s the event onto the
same batching/dedup/flush pipeline and returns Task.CompletedTask. Existing
Receive<AuditEvent> + 500/5s batching + two-layer dedup unchanged.
- Flush mapping updated for the canonical field types: OccurredAtUtc is now
DateTimeOffset (.UtcDateTime into the datetime2 column), SourceNode is string?
(was NodeId.Value), CorrelationId is Guid? (stored null when null). Outcome is
NOT yet persisted (column lands in Task 2.2).
- New AuditOutcomeMapper.FromAction maps the OtOpcUa action vocabulary to the
required canonical Outcome: OpcUaAccessDenied / CrossClusterNamespaceAttempt ->
Denied; config verbs (DraftCreated/Edited, Published, RolledBack, NodeApplied,
ClusterCreated, NodeAdded, CredentialAdded/Disabled, ExternalIdReleased) ->
Success. OtOpcUa emits no Failure events.
The Akka message shape changed, but the structured audit path is dormant (zero
production emit/Tell sites; all live audit flows through the bespoke SP path),
so there is no rolling-deploy wire-compat concern. Tested-not-exercised by
design.
ControlPlane.Tests: 44/44 green (AuditWriterActor suite rewritten to construct
the canonical record + assert the Outcome derivation table + the WriteAsync
best-effort/mailbox-routing contract + null SourceNode/CorrelationId handling).
- IDriverProbe abstraction in Core.Abstractions; one impl per driver
type, resolved by DriverType string. Phase 7.3 + 7.4 add concrete
probes for the 9 supported driver types.
- TestDriverConnect / TestDriverConnectResult messages.
- AdminOperationsActor.HandleTestDriverConnectAsync looks up the probe
by DriverType, runs it with a [1,60]s clamped timeout, and returns
success/latency or failure/message. Probes that throw or time out
surface as soft failures.
Adds <summary>, <param>, <typeparam>, and <inheritdoc/> tags to public
members surfaced by commentchecker — resolves 5,847 of 5,869 issues
(99.6%) across three /fixdocs passes.
ConfigAuditLog gains two nullable columns (EventId, CorrelationId) + a filtered
unique index UX_ConfigAuditLog_EventId. EF migration
20260526105027_AddConfigAuditLogEventIdColumns is additive (nullable + filtered
index = legacy rows backfill cleanly).
AuditWriterActor now writes EventId + CorrelationId into the dedicated columns
instead of synthesising a JSON wrapper into DetailsJson. Cross-restart dedup
is now real: a retry of an already-flushed batch hits the unique index and
SaveChanges throws; the existing catch drops the duplicate without losing the
rest of the batch.
WrapDetails helper deleted — F4 (its JSON hardening) becomes moot.
AuditWriterActorTests.Details_wrapper_embeds_eventId_and_correlationId renamed
+ rewritten to assert against the columns. All 29 ControlPlane tests pass,
all 95 v2 tests green.
Mirrors the publisher-injection pattern from FleetStatusBroadcaster and
PeerOpcUaProbeActor: Props accepts an optional Action<object> override so
tests can use a TestProbe sink instead of bootstrapping DistributedPubSub
(unreliable single-node in TestKit).
Un-skips the two RedundancyStateActor tests deferred under F6.
