Task 14 — the P1 milestone gate. Ran the live /run verification on a docker-dev
rig against the real Mosquitto TLS+auth fixture, and recorded the result.
The gate did its job: it found MQTT was unauthorable in production.
RawDriverTypeDialog's driver-type list is a hand-maintained array that nobody
added MQTT to, so the /raw "New driver" picker never offered it — with every
other layer (contracts, driver, browser, factory, host registration, typed tag
editor) complete and 266 green unit tests. Nothing tied that array to
DriverTypeNames and AdminUI has no bUnit, so no offline test could see it.
Fixed, plus RawDriverTypeDialogParityTests: a reflection parity guard that
fails for ANY DriverTypeNames entry missing from the picker. Verified
falsifiable — RED with "…cannot be authored from the /raw New-driver picker,
so they are unreachable in production: Mqtt" before the one-line fix.
A second gap is left OPEN and documented, not fixed (no task ever covered it):
MqttDriverForm / MqttDeviceForm do not exist, and DriverConfigModal/DeviceModal
have no raw-JSON fallback — so an operator can create an MQTT driver but cannot
author its broker endpoint or credentials. P1 is not operator-complete until
those two razor forms land. The gate authored config via SQL to get past it.
Live gate result (isolated 2-node MAIN stack, image built from this branch,
fixture at 10.100.0.35:8883, AllowUntrustedServerCertificate rather than
pinning the CA into the rig):
- typed MQTT tag editor renders and round-trips; Json shows the JSON-path
field, Raw/Scalar hide it; wildcard topic a/+/c blocked at save; data-type
list offers Float64 and no Double; qos/retainSeed absent on "(driver
default)" and qos:2 written as a number; isHistorized/historianTagname
survive a topic-only edit; SparkplugB renders the P2 placeholder and
switching back keeps Plain values; jsonPath is guidance not a gate in all
three shapes ($ seeded only for a brand-new blank tag, blank stays absent,
clearing saves fine)
- deployed, and both editor-written blobs resolved and served changing live
values through OPC UA (22.8 / 1629, StatusCode Good) — no BadNodeIdUnknown
- the bespoke #-observation browser drove a real broker session and rendered
the fixture's actual topic tree (line1/{counter,state,temperature},
noise/chatter, retained/seed); a Modbus device's picker still correctly
reports "Browsing unavailable"
Also found live and documented (not a code change): both nodes of a redundant
pair run the driver, so a FIXED clientId makes them evict each other forever —
the broker logs "already connected, closing old connection" and both nodes
reconnect every ~2s while still reporting Healthy. Unset (the default) is
correct; confirmed 0 reconnects/60s on both nodes after removing it.
Suites: offline 1134 passed / 0 failed (266 Driver.Mqtt + 730 AdminUI incl. the
3 new guards + 138 Core.Abstractions); live 7/7 against the fixture.
Docs: new docs/drivers/Mqtt.md + Mqtt-Test-Fixture.md (the per-driver + fixture
convention every other driver follows), MQTT rows in docs/drivers/README.md,
TestConnectProbes.md, root README.md, and infra/README.md §3.
CLAUDE.md drift corrected while adding the MQTT endpoints:
- the "every fixture carries project: lmxopcua" claim was false — only the
MQTT fixture does; the filter returns one stack, not the fleet
- lmxopcua-fix.ps1 is Windows-VM-only; on macOS drive the host over ssh/rsync
(and the docker-dev rig itself runs locally under OrbStack)

HistorianGateway is now the sole historian backend (read + alarm SendEvent +
continuous WriteLiveValues). Document the final state and retire the Wonderware
sidecar from the docs/config/labels:
- CLAUDE.md: rewrite the Historian section — ServerHistorian /
ContinuousHistorization / AlarmHistorian config keys, the IHistorianProvisioning
EnsureTags hook, the GatewayAlarmHistorianWriter SendEvent path + ReadEvents
dependency on gateway RuntimeDb:EventReadsEnabled=true, gateway-side
prerequisites (RuntimeDb flags + historian:read/write/tags:write scopes),
migration note, and two KNOWN-LIMITATION callouts (live-validation gate +
empty historized-ref-set recorder follow-on).
- appsettings.json: fix the stale ServerHistorian block (Host/Port/SharedSecret/
ServerCertThumbprint -> Endpoint/ApiKey/UseTls/AllowUntrustedServerCertificate/
CaCertificatePath/CallTimeout, keep MaxTieClusterOverfetch); add a disabled
ContinuousHistorization block; prune the orphaned Wonderware keys from
AlarmHistorian (keep the SQLite knobs). ApiKey env-supplied via
ServerHistorian__ApiKey (commented; valid strict JSON via _comment keys).
- README.md + docs (Historian.md, AlarmHistorian.md, Configuration.md,
ServiceHosting.md, DriverLifecycle.md, drivers/README.md, Uns.md, VirtualTags.md,
AlarmTracking.md, Client.UI.md, README.md, TestConnectProbes.md): retire the
Wonderware historian backend from current-backend descriptions; fix the stale
ServerHistorian/AlarmHistorian config tables (now gateway shape); convert
drivers/Historian.Wonderware.md to a retired stub pointing at the gateway.
- Source/UI labels (descriptive text only, no behavior change):
OtOpcUaServerHostedService.cs, HistoryPaging.cs, OtOpcUaSdkServer.cs,
HistorianAdapterActor.cs, VirtualTagModal.razor, ScriptedAlarmModal.razor,
AlarmsHistorian.razor now name the HistorianGateway backend.
Build clean (0 errors); AdminUI.Tests green (514 passed).

Rewrite src/ and tests/ project paths in docs, CLAUDE.md, README.md, and
test-fixture READMEs to the new module-folder layout (Core/Server/Drivers/
Client/Tooling). References to retired v1 projects (Galaxy.Host/Proxy/Shared,
the legacy monolithic test projects) are left untouched.

Two follow-ups from the post-PR-7.2 audit:
1. Reinstate verified-current architecture deep-dive links that the
doc-cleanup pass dropped pending verification:
- docs/OpcUaServer.md (server composition, namespace fan-out,
Polly invoker)
- docs/IncrementalSync.md (driver-backend rediscovery + config
publishes)
- docs/ReadWriteOperations.md (driver vs virtual vs scripted-alarm
dispatch)
All three reference live Phase 6.2 / Phase 7 features and the
current GenericDriverNodeManager / CapabilityInvoker / OTOPCUA0001
analyzer codepaths.
2. Restructured the README link table into three logical sections —
"Architecture deep-dives" / "Drivers" / "Clients" — and added a
"v1 archive" section pointing at docs/v1/ for the retired in-process
MXAccess docs.
3. Removed the dead docs/Configuration.md link (the file moved to
docs/v1/Configuration.md in the v1 archive sweep). All 16 link
targets in the new README now resolve.
Plus: physically removed the 9 leftover Driver.Galaxy.* directories
from src/ and tests/ that PR 7.2's git rm cleared from tracking but
left as orphan bin/obj scaffolding on disk. No tracked-content
change for that part.

Audit (three parallel agent passes) found 43 markdown files carrying
stale references to the deleted Galaxy.Host/Proxy/Shared projects
after the v2-mxgw merge. This commit lands the prioritized fixes.
Track 1 — high-traffic in-place rewrites (3 files, ~454 lines deleted)
- README.md (202 → 91 lines): drops .NET 4.8 / x86 / TopShelf install
text; leads with the multi-driver .NET 10 server identity and points
at scripts/install/Install-Services.ps1 and the parity rig.
- docs/v2/driver-specs.md §1 Galaxy (~289 → ~66 lines): replaces the
Tier-C out-of-process spec with a Tier-A in-process description
matching the current GalaxyDriver code, with the four-section
GalaxyDriverOptions JSON shape pulled verbatim from
Config/GalaxyDriverOptions.cs.
- docs/drivers/Galaxy.md (211 → 92 lines): full rewrite around the
current Browse/Runtime/Health/Config sub-folders.
Track 2 — historical banners (5 files)
- lmx_mxgw.md, lmx_mxgw_impl.md, lmx_backend.md,
docs/v2/Galaxy.ParityMatrix.md,
docs/v2/implementation/phase-2-galaxy-out-of-process.md each get a
"✅ Completed 2026-04-30 — historical record" banner block. lmx_mxgw.md
also fixes two dead links (`docs/Galaxy.Driver.md` and
`docs/v2/Galaxy.Driver.md`) → `docs/drivers/Galaxy.md`.
Track 3 — v1 archive sweep (10 git mv + 1 new index + 2 in-place scrubs)
- Moved 10 v1 docs under docs/v1/ preserving subpath structure:
AlarmTracking, Configuration, DataTypeMapping, HistoricalDataAccess,
Subscriptions (top-level); drivers/Galaxy-Repository,
drivers/Galaxy-Test-Fixture; reqs/GalaxyRepositoryReqs,
reqs/MxAccessClientReqs, reqs/ServiceHostReqs.
- New docs/v1/README.md is the shared archive banner + per-file table.
- docs/README.md repointed to the v1 paths and updated to reflect the
v2 two-process deploy shape (Server + Admin + optional
OtOpcUaWonderwareHistorian).
- docs/v2/Galaxy.ParityRig.md got a historical banner + four inline
scrubs marking the OtOpcUaGalaxyHost service / Driver.Galaxy.Host
EXE / Driver.Galaxy.ParityTests project as deleted-in-PR-7.2.
The repo's live-reading surface (README + CLAUDE.md + docs/v2/) now
describes only the post-PR-7.2 architecture. v1 docs are preserved as
a labelled archive under docs/v1/.

The aahClientManaged SDK is now isolated in ZB.MOM.WW.LmxOpcUa.Historian.Aveva and loaded via HistorianPluginLoader from a Historian/ subfolder only when enabled, removing the SDK from Host's compile-time and deploy-time surface.

Prerequisites, build commands, and test instructions are now split by target
framework since the server requires AVEVA/COM/Windows while the clients are
cross-platform.

Major changes across the client stack:
- Settings persistence (connection, subscriptions, alarm source)
- Deferred OPC UA SDK init for instant startup
- Array/status code formatting, write value popup, alarm acknowledgment
- Severity-colored alarm rows, condition dedup on server side
- DateTimeRangePicker control with preset buttons and UTC text input
- Historian queries use wwTimezone=UTC and OPCQuality column
- Recursive subscribe from tree, multi-select remove
- Connection panel with expander, folder chooser for cert path
- Dynamic tab headers showing subscription/alarm counts
- Client.UI.md documentation with headless-rendered screenshots

The standalone CLI tool is superseded by src/ZB.MOM.WW.LmxOpcUa.Client.CLI
which uses the shared IOpcUaClientService abstraction. Renames CliTool.md to
Client.CLI.md and updates README, CLAUDE.md, Security, and Redundancy docs.

Separates ApplicationUri from namespace identity so each instance in a
redundant pair has a unique server URI while sharing the same Galaxy
namespace. Exposes RedundancySupport, ServerUriArray, and dynamic
ServiceLevel through the standard OPC UA server object. ServiceLevel
is computed from role (Primary/Secondary) and runtime health (MXAccess
and DB connectivity). Adds CLI redundancy command, second deployed
service instance, and 31 new tests including paired-server integration.

Adds Security section to appsettings.json with configurable OPC UA
transport profiles (None, Basic256Sha256-Sign, Basic256Sha256-SignAndEncrypt),
certificate policy settings, and a configurable BindAddress for the
OPC UA endpoint. Defaults preserve backward compatibility.

Removes Security Classification, Alarm Tracking, Historical Data Access,
Incremental Sync, Configuration, Data Type Mapping, and Startup Sequence
sections that are now covered by their respective docs/ files.
