Proto comments (comment-only, no wire change):
- mxaccess_worker.proto GatewayHello.max_frame_bytes: every worker->gateway frame
must serialize within the negotiated max; reply builders truncate (IPC-23).
- mxaccess_gateway.proto DrainEventsReply: count-cap + byte-cap, drain-until-empty
caller contract (IPC-23).
- mxaccess_gateway.proto ReplayGap.oldest_available_sequence: empty-ring value is
highest-observed+1, oldest-1 resume formula stays valid (GWC-25 deferred amendment).
Regen wave: Contracts/Generated (C# XML doc), rust vendored protos (byte-copy),
Go bindings (worker binding was genuinely stale - lacked MaxFrameBytes entirely),
Python worker _pb2 (real descriptor delta), Java aggregates (javadoc, zero
protobuf-version churn under the pinned toolchain), client descriptor set.
IPC-24: pinned Java toolchain regenerates with no gencode-version churn, so the
unconditional churn-revert step in ci.yml is a fossil - deleted it; git diff is
now a true message-level drift gate for the single-file Java aggregates.
IPC-25: pin protoc-gen-go v1.36.11 / protoc-gen-go-grpc 1.6.2 in the Go generate
script (+ fix a latent pwsh-7 parse bug); add Check 4 to check-codegen.ps1
(regenerate Go+Python bindings, fail on diff, tool-missing fails not skips); add
the pinned-generator installs to the portable CI job.
IPC-32: relabel check-codegen banners 1/4..4/4 (folded into the Check 4 edit).
Docs: ClientProtoGeneration.md, Contracts.md, GatewayTesting.md, build.gradle
checkGeneratedClean caveat. Tracking: IPC-23/24/25/32 -> Done, GWC-25 proto note
resolved, change-log 2026-08-07.
Code-review follow-up on the CLI-40/41/44 branch.
ISSUE 1 (all five, critical): the message-only scrub still leaked the
server-echoed credential through the redacted error's structured reply accessor
(.NET Reply/Statuses, Java reply()/protocolStatus(), Go MxAccessError.Reply via
errors.As, Rust reply()/into_reply(), Python raw_reply). The redacted error now
carries a scrubbed clone of the reply (protocol_status.message,
diagnostic_message, statuses[].diagnostic_text), with per-language tests asserting
the reply accessor no longer contains the credential.
ISSUE 2 (Rust, critical): ensure_command_success routed MXACCESS_FAILURE to
Error::Command (unlike the other four clients), bypassing attach_secrets and
leaking via derived Debug/Display. MXACCESS_FAILURE now routes to Error::MxAccess,
fixing the cross-client inconsistency.
ISSUE 3 (Go, important): the CLI-44 terminal send was unconditionally
non-blocking, dropping a genuine terminal error under a full buffer on the
never-drop SubscribeEvents path. It is now reserved-slot-non-blocking only for the
cancel-on-overflow path and blocking for the never-drop path.
New shared fixture authenticate-user.echoed-credential-mxaccess-failure.reply.json
wired into all five suites. Minors: whitespace-secret guard on .NET/Java redact
helpers; Java preserves exception subtype on redaction; redaction-helper unit
tests (Go/Java/.NET). Docs (ClientBehaviorFixtures.md, ClientLibrariesDesign.md)
updated to make the structured-field claim true.
CLI-40: port the exact-secret credential scrub to Rust/Java/.NET (Go/Python
already did it). AuthenticateUser/WriteSecured(2) helpers now redact the exact
caller-supplied secret from any surfaced error, as defense-in-depth on top of the
by-construction guarantee. Rust hand-writes a redacting Debug (derived Debug would
leak the reply); Java/.NET rebuild the same exception type with the redacted
message and do not carry the secret-bearing original forward (so ToString/stack
traces stay clean too).
CLI-41: uniform malformed-reply contract for AuthenticateUser/ArchestrAUserToId/
AddBufferedItem across all five clients — typed payload, else a present int32
return_value, else a typed malformed-reply error. Fixes Go/Java silent-0, .NET
NRE, and Rust's own internal inconsistency.
CLI-44: the Go event goroutine's Recv-error path now uses a non-blocking
sendTerminalEventResult on the reserved slot, so a genuine terminal stream error
is reported as itself instead of being mislabeled ErrSlowConsumer under overflow.
Riders from the CLI-37/38 review: (a) .NET ToDiagnosticSummary and Python
_mxaccess_message surface the raw success member (diagnostics-only parity with
Rust); (b) the status-conversion fixture carries an independent wantSuccess
boolean and the Go/.NET fixture tests assert against it instead of recomputing
the formula under test.
Shared fixtures (authenticate-user.{echoed-credential,missing-payload,
return-value-only}.reply.json) + manifest + ClientBehaviorFixtures.md +
ClientLibrariesDesign.md updated in the same change. Tracking: CLI-40/41/44 -> Done.
All five client CLIs now share one credential contract for `authenticate-user`:
flags `--password` / `--password-env` (Go: `-password` / `-password-env`) with
default env `MXGATEWAY_VERIFY_PASSWORD`, resolution flag-then-env, and a resolved
credential that is missing *or empty* is a usage error naming the flag and the
variable. The value is never echoed and never reaches the wire.
Go and Java previously sent an empty credential when the variable was unset,
turning a misconfigured environment into a real MXAccess authentication attempt.
Go now returns the guard error before dialing; Java throws a picocli
ParameterException instead of falling back to "". Python's `--password-env`
gained the canonical default and its UsageError names the resolved variable.
Rust treats an empty flag or env value as missing, with the resolution extracted
into a testable `resolve_verify_user_password`. .NET adopts the canonical flags
and keeps `--verify-user-password`, `--verify-user-password-env`, and
MXGATEWAY_VERIFY_USER_PASSWORD as deprecated aliases for one release.
Docs same commit: CrossLanguageSmokeMatrix.md gains the credential contract and
the per-CLI subcommand-coverage table (the documented-not-fixed half of the
finding); all five READMEs name the canonical variable and the fail-fast rule,
and the .NET README carries the deprecation note. Tracking flipped to Done in
both remediation registers with a change-log row.
No .proto changed; no generated code regenerated.
One cross-client conformance pass; also closes first-cycle CLI-08.
CLI-37: an MxStatusProxy entry is a failure iff `category !=
MX_STATUS_CATEGORY_OK`. The proto contract has always said so — `success` is
the raw 16-bit COM member carried verbatim for diagnostics, not a boolean — but
four clients branched on `success` alone and .NET required both, so the same
gateway reply produced opposite verdicts per language. An absent entry stays
success; a present entry with an UNSPECIFIED category is a failure, because the
worker always maps a category and an unmapped one is not proven OK.
CLI-38: a reply fails on HRESULT iff `hresult` is present and negative, so
positive COM success codes such as S_FALSE (1) pass. .NET/Go/Java used `!= 0`,
which errored on a parity-preserving S_FALSE that Python and Rust accepted.
This makes the existing ClientLibrariesDesign.md claim true rather than
rewriting the doc to describe the divergence.
Four shared fixtures pin both rules cross-client, and each language suite also
carries a table test for the two edges a fixture cannot express (absent entry,
UNSPECIFIED category). A Java test fake that built a status with a bare
`setSuccess(1)` and no category is fixed — under the category rule that reply
was never a success.
An empty replay ring reported oldest_available_sequence = 0 even when gap was
true. Clients follow the documented after_worker_sequence = oldest - 1 formula,
so an unsigned client computed ulong.MaxValue: the follow-up resume replayed
nothing, reported no gap, and the live filter dropped every subsequent event —
a silently dead stream in the headline detach-and-resume scenario, reachable on
default config once ReplayRetentionSeconds (300) age-evicts the ring.
GWC-25: SessionEventDistributor.RegisterWithReplay's empty-ring branch now
reports _highestSequenceSeen + 1 — the next sequence that can possibly be
delivered — when gap is true, so oldest - 1 lands exactly on the highest
observed sequence and the resume delivers everything newer. Still 0 when there
is no gap, where the field is meaningless and never emitted. Nothing is lost:
the evicted interval was unrecoverable either way, and the sentinel's job is to
say "re-snapshot".
CLI-35: the Python CLI fed every stream item into MessageToDict, which raised on
the ReplayGap dataclass and aborted the command after consuming the stream. A
new _event_row helper renders a gap as {"replayGap": {...}} — the same camelCase
shape the Rust CLI emits — and leaves proto events on the existing path.
CLI-36: the Go CLI formatted result.Event on every row, but the library
deliberately clears Event on a gap, so text mode printed
"0 MX_EVENT_FAMILY_UNSPECIFIED" and JSON mode an empty object, discarding the
resume cursors. The loop now branches on result.IsReplayGap() and renders the
typed row in both modes, counting it toward -limit like any other row. The JSON
row's cursors are typed by hand rather than marshalled with protojson: the
proto3 JSON mapping renders 64-bit integers as strings ("7") while the Rust and
Python CLIs emit numbers (7), so going through protojson would have made Go the
only canonical CLI with a different value type.
Docs in the same change: docs/Sessions.md documents the empty-ring sentinel
value and that oldest - 1 is the universal resume formula in both the retained
and fully-evicted cases; docs/CrossLanguageSmokeMatrix.md gains a per-CLI
gap-rendering table covering both client findings, and records exactly what is
and is not comparable across CLIs (same keys and numeric cursors for Rust/Go/
Python; quoted cursors for .NET/Java; differing key order, whitespace, and
container), so a matrix runner compares parsed values rather than raw bytes.
Tests, all written red first and each reproducing its defect verbatim:
- SessionEventDistributorTests: RegisterWithReplayReportsNextDeliverableSequence
WhenRingEmptiedByAge, ...WithRetentionDisabled, and
ResumeUsingSentinelFormulaAfterEmptyRingGapDeliversLiveEvents.
- GatewayEndToEndReconnectReplayTests.ReconnectAfterFullAgeEvictionResumesWith
SentinelFormula — fake-worker e2e resume walk on a fake clock; the fixture now
takes a retention window and a TimeProvider.
- clients/python test_stream_events_renders_replay_gap.
- clients/go TestRunStreamEventsPrintsReplayGap.
GWC-25's ReplayGap.oldest_available_sequence proto-comment amendment is
deliberately deferred to the later codegen wave (see the tracker change log): it
is comment-only but triggers the full five-client regen fan-out.
The gateway emits a ReplayGap sentinel MxEvent at the head of a StreamEvents
stream resumed via after_worker_sequence when the requested cursor predates the
oldest retained event. Clients previously ignored it, silently mis-treating a
lossy resume as continuous. Each client now surfaces the sentinel as a distinct,
typed, non-terminal signal (never synthesized, never swallowed) so a consumer can
detect the gap and re-snapshot; resume contract is
after_worker_sequence = oldest_available_sequence - 1.
- .NET: MxEventStreamItem (IsReplayGap/ReplayGap/Event) via new StreamEventItemsAsync
+ AsStreamItemsAsync extension. Build clean, 87 passed.
- Go: EventResult.ReplayGap field + IsReplayGap(); ReplayGap type alias. build/vet/test clean.
- Rust: EventItem enum (Event/ReplayGap); EventStream now yields Result<EventItem, Error>;
CLI renders REPLAY_GAP line / replayGap JSON. fmt/check/test/clippy clean.
- Python: ReplayGap dataclass; stream_events yields pb.MxEvent | ReplayGap. 131 passed.
- Shared docs: ClientLibrariesDesign non-goals reframed (reconnect-replay protocol is
consumable; auto-reconnect stays a non-goal); CrossLanguageSmokeMatrix resume-gap note.
Java client is deferred to the windev batch (no local JRE); CLI-15 stays open until it lands.

- IPC-01: regenerate the stale client descriptor set and add ClientProtoInputTests
(semantic, protoc-free) so a missing contract symbol fails the build.
- IPC-20: make publish-client-proto-inputs.ps1 -Check source_code_info-normalized
so it is protoc-version tolerant.
- IPC-19: document + guard the "Generated/ must be committed for net48" rule
(docs/Contracts.md, csproj comment, check-codegen.ps1).
- IPC-09: harden the per-client generate-proto scripts (PATH resolution + pinned
grpcio/protobuf/java version asserts) so regeneration is reproducible.
- TST-03: add .gitea/workflows/ci.yml (portable/java/windows/live jobs) running the
build, tests, client checks, and the codegen guards.
- Also: check-codegen.ps1 Check 3 guards the CLI-02 vendored Rust protos against drift.
archreview: IPC-01/09/19/20 Done, TST-03 In review (pipeline authored + validated,
not yet run on a Gitea runner). Verified on macOS: NonWindows build clean,
ClientProtoInputTests 5/5, -Check exit 0.
Events()/EventsAfter() previously closed the channel silently when the
16-slot buffer overflowed, indistinguishable from a graceful server end.
Reserve one slot and emit a terminal EventResult wrapping the new exported
ErrSlowConsumer so overflow is always observable. The blocking
SubscribeEvents path (gRPC flow-controlled) is unchanged.
archreview: CLI-01 (P0). Verified: gofmt clean, go build ./..., go test ./... (+ -race) pass.
Regenerate Go proto types from mxaccess_gateway.proto so MxSparseArray,
MxSparseElement, and MxValue_SparseArrayValue appear in the generated
package; add MxSparseArray/MxSparseElement type aliases to types.go;
add Session.WriteArrayElements and the unexported buildSparseArrayValue
builder; add three unit tests covering the sparse oneof structure,
empty-map case, and the round-trip through WriteArrayElements; update
README with default-fill reset semantics and auto-normalize note.
A consuming project hit two MXAccess parity surprises: a plain Write only
records its user_id when the item has an active supervisory advise (the path
to take when not authenticating), and array writes replace the whole array
rather than patching individual elements. Document both across the five client
READMEs and gateway.md's compatibility baseline, and expose the missing
advise-supervisory subcommand in the go/python/rust/java CLIs (plus the .NET
help text) so callers can establish the supervisory advise without dropping to
the raw command API.
Server-054/055/056, Contracts-020/021/022, Tests-036/038/039,
IntegrationTests-030/031/032 (+033 deferred to live rig),
Client.Dotnet-026/028/029 (+027 won't-fix), Client.Go-030..034,
Client.Python-032..036, Client.Rust-033..038.
Key fix: SessionEventDistributor orphaned a subscriber that registered after
the pump completed but before disposal (Server-056) -> register paths now
complete late registrants under _lifecycleLock; regression test added. The
racy dashboard-mirror gRPC test made deterministic (Tests-039).
Verified green locally: gateway Tests targeted classes (GatewaySession,
SessionEventDistributor, GatewayOptionsValidator, ProtobufContractRoundTrip,
GatewaySessionDashboardMirror) + dotnet/go/python/rust client suites.
Rename the browse JSON key from hasChildren to hasChildrenHint to match the
Rust and Python CLIs and the library property name (HasChildrenHint). Update
the text-output label to match. Add a one-line stderr warning when -parent 0
is supplied, since 0 is the server root sentinel and omitting -parent is the
intended way to walk from the root.
TestRunPingJSON now verifies the fake gateway's echoed text appears in
the serialised reply body, catching any future wiring regression that
maps PingRaw to the wrong proto field. runPing gains a one-line comment
explaining why DiagnosticMessage carries the echo, why the kind-string
fallback exists, and why writeCommandOutput is not reused on the
plain-text path.
Add PingRaw to Session (session.go), runPing to the CLI dispatch
(main.go), and three tests covering plain-text echo, JSON output,
and missing-session-id validation (main_test.go). Default message
is "ping"; gateway echo is read from DiagnosticMessage, falling
back to the kind string if absent.
Add Write2/Write2Raw to the Go client Session, mirroring the existing
Write/WriteRaw pair, so all five language clients now expose write2.
Includes three TDD tests covering payload propagation, raw-reply return,
and nil-value rejection.
Add a "High-level walker" subsection under each client's "Browsing
lazily" section showing idiomatic use of LazyBrowseNode (browse +
expand, idempotency note, redeploy refresh pattern).
Client.Go-022 Re-applied Client.Go-015 shape — runWriteBulkVariant drops
the unused secured param and gates -current-user-id /
-verifier-user-id / -user-id behind the secured-only
variants.
Client.Go-023 Re-applied Client.Go-018 shape — bench warm-up and steady-
state loops respect ctx.Err().
Client.Go-024 Added SDK-level tests for WriteBulk / Write2Bulk /
WriteSecuredBulk / WriteSecured2Bulk / ReadBulk and
StreamAlarms via the existing bufconn fake gateway pattern.
Client.Go-025 Five bulk SDK methods short-circuit on empty input without
an RPC round-trip and document the behavior.
Client.Go-026 runBatch widens scanner.Buffer to 16 MiB and emits an
error-with-sentinel if a longer line still arrives, rather
than aborting the session silently.
Client.Go-027 runBatch treats blank lines as skip-and-continue; only EOF
ends the session.
All resolved at 2026-05-24; gofmt + go vet + go build + go test ./... all
green.

Each client's README now covers the alarms surface in both the SDK
section (StreamAlarms / AcknowledgeAlarm beside the existing
QueryActiveAlarms entry, with the streaming-cancellation note) and
the CLI examples (stream-alarms / acknowledge-alarm invocations
mirroring the in-tree implementations across .NET, Go, Rust, Python,
and Java).
Co-Authored-By: Claude Opus 4.7 (1M context) <noreply@anthropic.com>
Adds the session-less alarm CLI subcommands to mxgw-go. stream-alarms attaches
to the gateway's central alarm feed (--filter-prefix, --limit, --json — NDJSON,
one AlarmFeedMessage per line); acknowledge-alarm is a unary ack (--reference
required, --comment, --operator). StreamAlarms joins QueryActiveAlarms on the
public Client and is wired through the existing batch dispatcher via runWithIO.
SDK type aliases for StreamAlarmsRequest / AlarmFeedMessage / StreamAlarmsClient
land alongside the existing alarm types.

Mirrors the .NET addition: HEAD's session.go had only the subscribe-style
bulks (AddItemBulk / AdviseItemBulk / RemoveItemBulk / UnAdviseItemBulk /
SubscribeBulk / UnsubscribeBulk). This commit ports the value-bulk SDK
surface and CLI subcommands from divergent branch commit f220908.
SDK (clients/go/mxgateway/session.go):
- WriteBulk(ctx, serverHandle int32, entries []*WriteBulkEntry)
- Write2Bulk(ctx, ..., entries []*Write2BulkEntry)
- WriteSecuredBulk(ctx, ..., entries []*WriteSecuredBulkEntry)
- WriteSecured2Bulk(ctx, ..., entries []*WriteSecured2BulkEntry)
- ReadBulk(ctx, serverHandle int32, tagAddresses []string, timeout time.Duration)
→ []*BulkReadResult
types.go gains public re-exports of the generated proto types
(WriteBulkCommand, WriteBulkEntry, Write2BulkCommand, Write2BulkEntry,
WriteSecuredBulkCommand, WriteSecuredBulkEntry, WriteSecured2BulkCommand,
WriteSecured2BulkEntry, ReadBulkCommand, BulkWriteReply, BulkWriteResult,
BulkReadReply, BulkReadResult) so external callers can construct entries
through the public `mxgateway` package without dipping into the internal
generated path.
CLI (clients/go/cmd/mxgw-go/main.go):
- read-bulk, write-bulk, write2-bulk, write-secured-bulk,
write-secured2-bulk routed through runWithIO. write families share a
runWriteBulkVariant helper that gates per-variant flags
(--current-user-id, --verifier-user-id, --timestamp) so the
Client.Go-015 flag-gating contract is preserved.
- bench-read-bulk: percentile + timing helpers; JSON output schema
identical to the .NET / Rust / Python / Java benches.
parseInt32List was changed from panic-on-error to ([]int32, error) so
the new write-bulk commands surface parse errors gracefully; the
existing runUnsubscribeBulk caller is updated accordingly.
Verification: go build ./... + go vet ./... + go test ./... all clean.
Manual smoke against live gateway on localhost:5120: open-session →
register → subscribe-bulk on 3 TestMachine_NNN.TestChangingInt tags
(all wasSuccessful=true) → read-bulk (all wasSuccessful=true /
wasCached=true) → write-bulk int32 100/200/300 (all wasSuccessful=true)
→ close-session SESSION_STATE_CLOSED.

scripts/run-client-e2e-tests.ps1 expects each language CLI to expose a
`batch` subcommand that reads command lines from stdin, runs each
through the normal subcommand dispatch, writes the JSON result, then
a sentinel line `__MXGW_BATCH_EOR__`. The implementation lived on a
divergent branch (commit 6126099) that was never merged into main —
this commit ports the same protocol to HEAD's renamed CLIs so the
existing matrix script runs end-to-end.
The protocol:
- one line of stdin = one full CLI invocation
- successful output → stdout, then __MXGW_BATCH_EOR__
- failure → {"error":"...","type":"error"} JSON on stdout, then
__MXGW_BATCH_EOR__ (errors do NOT exit the loop)
- empty line or EOF terminates the loop
Per-CLI additions:
.NET: RunBatchAsync + per-line StringWriter capture, JSON error
envelope when forceJsonErrors is true. Two new tests in
MxGatewayClientCliTests covering the success and error paths.
Go: runBatch with bufio.Scanner, runs each line through the
existing runWithIO switch with a buffered stdout writer. One new
test pinning the EOR sentinel.
Rust: new `Batch` variant on the clap Command enum, run_batch
re-parses each line via Cli::try_parse_from. Two new tests in the
inline mod tests block.
Python: new `batch` click command in commands.py that uses
CliRunner to dispatch each line; synthesises {"error",..."type"}
JSON from click error messages when the captured output isn't
already JSON-shaped. Three new tests in test_cli.py.
Java: BatchCommand inner @Command with BufferedReader stdin loop,
fresh commandLine() per dispatch with captured stdout/stderr
PrintWriters; non-zero exit codes and uncaught exceptions both
surface as JSON-error blocks. Two new tests.
Also fixes scripts/run-client-e2e-tests.ps1 line 705: the Python
invocation was still passing the old module name `mxgateway_cli` to
`python -m`; the client SDK rename in 397d3c5 moved it to
`zb_mom_ww_mxgateway_cli`. Without the fix the Python leg fails
with "No module named mxgateway_cli" before reaching open-session.
Verification: full matrix at the redeployed gateway (localhost:5120,
running ZB.MOM.WW.MxGateway.Server.exe / ZB.MOM.WW.MxGateway.Worker.exe)
with -SkipBulk -SkipReadWriteBulk -SkipParity -SkipAuth (those phases
exercise bulk read/write CLI subcommands that also live on the
divergent branch — porting those is a follow-up). All five clients
report `closed=true, addedItems=120, eventCount=5` and overall
`success=true`. Per-language unit tests pass:
- dotnet: 59/59
- go: all packages clean
- rust: cargo test --workspace clean
- python: 42/42
- java: gradle build SUCCESSFUL

Rename across every client surface using each language's idiomatic convention:
* .NET clients/dotnet/MxGateway.Client[.Cli|.Tests]/

namespaces -> ZB.MOM.WW.MxGateway.Client[.Cli|.Tests]
contracts ProjectReference repointed to ZB.MOM.WW.MxGateway.Contracts
sln migrated to slnx (dotnet sln migrate)
* Python src/mxgateway -> src/zb_mom_ww_mxgateway
src/mxgateway_cli -> src/zb_mom_ww_mxgateway_cli
distribution: mxaccess-gateway-client -> zb-mom-ww-mxaccess-gateway-client
* Rust crate: mxgateway-client -> zb-mom-ww-mxgateway-client
build.rs proto path repointed
* Java subprojects: mxgateway-{client,cli} -> zb-mom-ww-mxgateway-{client,cli}
packages com.dohertylan.mxgateway -> com.zb.mom.ww.mxgateway
group com.dohertylan.mxgateway -> com.zb.mom.ww.mxgateway
rootProject mxaccessgw-java -> zb-mom-ww-mxaccessgw-java
* Go generate-proto.ps1 proto path repointed; module path and
package mxgateway kept (Go convention).
* proto-inputs.json: generatedOutputs.python updated to new package path.
* scripts/run-client-e2e-tests.ps1: Java CLI install path + gradle task
updated to zb-mom-ww-mxgateway-cli.
CLI binary names (mxgw, mxgw-py, mxgw-go, mxgateway-cli) and wire-level
identifiers (MXGATEWAY_* env vars, the mxgw_<id>_<secret> API key
prefix, protobuf package names like mxaccess_gateway.v1, all MXAccess
references) intentionally NOT renamed.
Fix pre-existing alarms-over-gateway breaks unblocked by the rename:
* mxaccess_gateway.proto: add missing public message QueryActiveAlarmsRequest
{session_id, client_correlation_id, alarm_filter_prefix} and missing
rpc QueryActiveAlarms(QueryActiveAlarmsRequest) returns
(stream ActiveAlarmSnapshot). All four typed clients referenced
these but they were absent from the proto.
* MxAccessGatewayService.QueryActiveAlarms: implement the new RPC on
the server, streaming from IGatewayAlarmService.CurrentAlarms with
optional alarm_filter_prefix filter.
* clients/dotnet/.../DiscoverHierarchyOptions.cs: add the hand-written
.NET POCO that wraps DiscoverHierarchyRequest (referenced by
GalaxyRepositoryClient.DiscoverHierarchyAsync but never authored).
* Drop retired session_id field references from
AcknowledgeAlarmRequest/AcknowledgeAlarmReply test fixtures across
.NET, Rust, Go, and Python clients.
* Rust integration test: add the missing stream_alarms impl on the
fake MxAccessGateway server (the trait gained the method, fake
didn't).
* Rust CLI test: bump expected gatewayProtocolVersion 2 -> 3.
Regenerated artifacts updated in this commit:
* src/ZB.MOM.WW.MxGateway.Contracts/Generated/{MxaccessGateway,MxaccessGatewayGrpc}.cs
* clients/python/src/zb_mom_ww_mxgateway/generated/*_pb2{,_grpc}.py
* clients/go/internal/generated/*.pb.go
(C# regenerated by Grpc.Tools on contracts build; Python and Go via
their generate-proto.ps1 scripts; Rust regenerates from .proto via
tonic-build at compile time so no checked-in artefact.)
Verification: 472 server tests, 275 worker tests (9 dev-rig skipped),
18 integration tests (live MxAccess + LDAP + Galaxy), 57 .NET client
tests, 32 Rust workspace tests, 39 Python tests, all Go packages, and
gradle build for Java all pass.

Ninth PR of the alarms-over-gateway epic
(docs/plans/alarms-over-gateway.md). Mirrors PR E.2's .NET surface
on the Go SDK. Depends on PR E.1 (regen, merged).
- Client.AcknowledgeAlarm — context-aware unary call routed through
the existing callContext helper (default 30s timeout). Failures
wrap into *GatewayError; protocol-status non-OK promotes to typed
protocol errors via EnsureProtocolSuccess.
- Client.QueryActiveAlarms — context-streaming wrapper around the
generated MxAccessGateway_QueryActiveAlarmsClient. Caller drives
the stream via Recv(); cancelling ctx releases it.
- types.go re-exports the four new generated types
(AcknowledgeAlarmRequest/Reply, QueryActiveAlarmsRequest,
ActiveAlarmSnapshot) plus the AlarmTransitionKind /
AlarmConditionState enums and the
QueryActiveAlarmsClient stream alias.
- version.go bumps GatewayProtocolVersion 1 → 3 to match the .NET
contract; the const was previously stale and the bump fixes the
pre-existing TestOpenSessionFixtureProtocolVersions failure that
was masked because the fixture had not been regenerated until A.1.
Tests:
- 4 new tests in alarms_test.go — request shape + auth metadata,
nil-request rejection, Unauthenticated mapping, snapshot
streaming over bufconn, filter-prefix passthrough.
- All Go test suites green: cmd/mxgw-go + mxgateway.

Pure mechanical regen following PR A.1 (alarm-transition event family
+ AcknowledgeAlarm / QueryActiveAlarms public RPCs). Ran:
- clients/python/generate-proto.ps1 → mxaccess_gateway_pb2.py +
mxaccess_gateway_pb2_grpc.py.
- clients/go/generate-proto.ps1 → mxaccess_gateway.pb.go +
mxaccess_gateway_grpc.pb.go + galaxy_repository.pb.go (whitespace
diff from upstream protoc minor version).
The .NET binding regenerates on csproj rebuild via Grpc.Tools — its
artifact (Generated/MxaccessGateway*.cs) was already updated as part
of A.1's commit. Java + Rust regen happens at build time via the
gradle plugin / build.rs respectively, with no committed output to
update.
Smoke-imported the regenerated Python descriptors:
OnAlarmTransitionEvent.DESCRIPTOR.fields → alarm_full_reference,
alarm_type_name, category, current_value, description, ...
AcknowledgeAlarmRequest.DESCRIPTOR.fields → alarm_full_reference,
client_correlation_id, comment, operator_user, session_id
ActiveAlarmSnapshot.DESCRIPTOR.fields → alarm_full_reference,
alarm_type_name, category, current_state, current_value, ...
