Joseph Doherty 440e7cf03d fix(CLI-39): bump Contracts nupkg to 0.2.0; scope pack-clients.ps1 regexes
Code review of the CLI-39 branch caught an Important gap: Contracts.csproj
was left at the already-published 0.1.2 while the .NET Client moved to
0.2.0. Invoke-PackDotnet in scripts/pack-clients.ps1 packs and publishes
both ZB.MOM.WW.MxGateway.Contracts and .Client through the same -Publish
loop, and the new collision guard runs every nupkg it finds through
Assert-GiteaPackageNotPublished. Left as-is, the next real .NET publish
would pack Contracts at 0.1.2, the guard would correctly refuse to
republish it, and the loop would abort mid-way with Client (alphabetically
first) possibly already pushed -- the two packages permanently out of
lockstep.

- src/ZB.MOM.WW.MxGateway.Contracts/ZB.MOM.WW.MxGateway.Contracts.csproj:
  <Version> 0.1.2 -> 0.2.0, matching the .NET Client (they have always
  released together).
- src/Directory.Build.props: corrected a comment that was now stale --
  it claimed the repo-wide 0.1.2 default was kept to match the Contracts
  package, which is no longer true now that Contracts.csproj overrides it.
  The <Version> value itself is unchanged; Server/Worker/Tests staying at
  0.1.2 is a separate, not-yet-made decision, out of scope for CLI-39.
- docs/ClientPackaging.md: Contracts.csproj added as a fifth manifest in
  the Versioning section, with the near-miss recorded.

Also hardened scripts/pack-clients.ps1 per the same review: the Python
(pyproject.toml) and Rust (Cargo.toml) version-extraction regexes now
scope to the [project]/[package] section header instead of matching the
first "version = ..." line anywhere in the file (Cargo.toml has an
identical second one under [workspace.package] -- matching whichever came
first was luck of ordering, not correctness). One-line comment added on
the nuget filename-parse regex.

Verified live against the real Gitea registry: Contracts and Client both
still refuse at 0.1.2 and both now pass at 0.2.0, including running the
actual Invoke-PackDotnet filename-parse-then-guard logic against two
freshly packed real .nupkg files. dotnet build of Contracts.csproj and the
client slnx both clean. No publish performed.

Joseph Doherty eacdd2d453 fix(IPC-23,IPC-24,IPC-25,IPC-32): proto-comment regen wave + codegen-freshness guards
Proto comments (comment-only, no wire change):
- mxaccess_worker.proto GatewayHello.max_frame_bytes: every worker->gateway frame
  must serialize within the negotiated max; reply builders truncate (IPC-23).
- mxaccess_gateway.proto DrainEventsReply: count-cap + byte-cap, drain-until-empty
  caller contract (IPC-23).
- mxaccess_gateway.proto ReplayGap.oldest_available_sequence: empty-ring value is
  highest-observed+1, oldest-1 resume formula stays valid (GWC-25 deferred amendment).

Regen wave: Contracts/Generated (C# XML doc), rust vendored protos (byte-copy),
Go bindings (worker binding was genuinely stale - lacked MaxFrameBytes entirely),
Python worker _pb2 (real descriptor delta), Java aggregates (javadoc, zero
protobuf-version churn under the pinned toolchain), client descriptor set.

IPC-24: pinned Java toolchain regenerates with no gencode-version churn, so the
unconditional churn-revert step in ci.yml is a fossil - deleted it; git diff is
now a true message-level drift gate for the single-file Java aggregates.

IPC-25: pin protoc-gen-go v1.36.11 / protoc-gen-go-grpc 1.6.2 in the Go generate
script (+ fix a latent pwsh-7 parse bug); add Check 4 to check-codegen.ps1
(regenerate Go+Python bindings, fail on diff, tool-missing fails not skips); add
the pinned-generator installs to the portable CI job.

IPC-32: relabel check-codegen banners 1/4..4/4 (folded into the Check 4 edit).

Docs: ClientProtoGeneration.md, Contracts.md, GatewayTesting.md, build.gradle
checkGeneratedClean caveat. Tracking: IPC-23/24/25/32 -> Done, GWC-25 proto note
resolved, change-log 2026-08-07.

Joseph Doherty 33ba612ddd fix(WRK-21,WRK-28,WRK-23,IPC-30): byte-budget the DrainEvents reply, stop size errors from killing sessions
ci / nightly-windev (push) Has been skipped
ci / java (push) Successful in 2m8s
ci / portable (push) Successful in 7m41s
ci / windows-x86 (push) Failing after 12m32s
WRK-21 — DrainEvents was bounded by event count only, so a byte-heavy queue
(large string/array MxValues) built a reply above the negotiated frame maximum:
the writer rejected the frame, the exception unwound the session, and the events
already dequeued were destroyed. The drain is now byte-budgeted inside the queue
lock, so an event is dequeued only once it is known to fit and one that does not
stays at the head. Truncation is reported through the reply's existing
DiagnosticMessage (no contract change); callers drain until an empty reply. Both
reply-write seams — the control-command path and ProcessCommandAsync — now catch
MessageTooLarge and answer the correlation with an InvalidRequest reply instead
of unwinding or faulting the session. Satisfies IPC-23 R1-R3.

WRK-28 — the 10,000 drain ceiling moves to GatewayContractInfo
.MaxDrainEventsPerCommand, referenced by both the gateway request validator and
the worker clamp, replacing a comment-only sync contract. C# const only; no
.proto change.

WRK-23 — WorkerFrameWriter now peek-stamps, validates, then commits the sequence
counter immediately before the stream write, so a per-frame rejection leaves no
phantom gap on the wire.

IPC-30 — an oversized event frame stays session-fatal (it is undeliverable end to
end and neither dropping nor synthesizing a replacement is allowed), but the
death is structured: the event's identity and sizes are logged (never its value),
a WorkerFault with category PROTOCOL_VIOLATION and command method EventDrain is
written, then the session exits as before.

Docs updated in the same change: MxAccessWorkerInstanceDesign.md (drain byte cap,
truncation contract, oversized-head behavior, oversized-event policy, no control
reply is session-fatal on size), WorkerFrameProtocol.md (reply pre-sizing,
non-fatal reply-size rule, oversized-event policy, rejected frames do not consume
sequence numbers), gateway.md (DrainEvents two-axis bound).

Joseph Doherty c8b3a2281a feat(ipc): negotiate worker frame max, add gRPC headroom, bound DrainEvents (IPC-02/03/04 gateway half)
Proto foundation + gateway-side of the size/backpressure pass:

- IPC-02: add GatewayHello.max_frame_bytes (regen Generated/); gateway sends
  its negotiated worker-frame max in the handshake so the worker can adopt it
  instead of a hard-coded default. Worker read-half lands separately.
- IPC-03: give the pipe frame max envelope-overhead headroom above the public
  gRPC cap (WorkerFrameProtocolOptions.EnvelopeOverheadReserveBytes = 64 KiB;
  default Worker.MaxMessageBytes bumped to 16 MiB + reserve), cross-validate the
  headroom at startup, and pre-check command envelope size in WorkerClient so an
  oversized command fails only that correlation (ResourceExhausted) instead of
  faulting the whole session.
- IPC-04: reject DrainEvents max_events above a public ceiling in the request
  validator (worker per-reply cap lands with the worker half).

Docs: GatewayConfiguration, WorkerFrameProtocol, gateway.md.
Tests: headroom validation, DrainEvents bound, oversized-command per-command
failure (pipe-harness, verified on windev).

Joseph Doherty d5248f61a2 fix(archreview): CI pipeline + codegen freshness guards (IPC-01/09/19/20, TST-03)
- IPC-01: regenerate the stale client descriptor set and add ClientProtoInputTests
  (semantic, protoc-free) so a missing contract symbol fails the build.
- IPC-20: make publish-client-proto-inputs.ps1 -Check source_code_info-normalized
  so it is protoc-version tolerant.
- IPC-19: document + guard the "Generated/ must be committed for net48" rule
  (docs/Contracts.md, csproj comment, check-codegen.ps1).
- IPC-09: harden the per-client generate-proto scripts (PATH resolution + pinned
  grpcio/protobuf/java version asserts) so regeneration is reproducible.
- TST-03: add .gitea/workflows/ci.yml (portable/java/windows/live jobs) running the
  build, tests, client checks, and the codegen guards.
- Also: check-codegen.ps1 Check 3 guards the CLI-02 vendored Rust protos against drift.

archreview: IPC-01/09/19/20 Done, TST-03 In review (pipeline authored + validated,
not yet run on a Gitea runner). Verified on macOS: NonWindows build clean,
ClientProtoInputTests 5/5, -Check exit 0.

Joseph Doherty c004b91164 docs(contracts): mark galaxy_repository.proto as intentionally retained for clients
The 2026-06-25 re-review observed that the gateway server no longer uses the
Contracts-generated Galaxy types (it consumes the wire-identical types from the
ZB.MOM.WW.GalaxyRepository package). That made galaxy_repository.proto look like
dead code. It is not: Go/Rust/Java/Python clients compile it by path, the .NET
client consumes Contracts.Proto.Galaxy.* via project reference, and
clients/proto/proto-inputs.json publishes it. Document this at the csproj entry
and in CLAUDE.md so it is not deleted in a future cleanup.

Joseph Doherty 6b5fe6aa82 fix: resolve code-review findings (locally verified)
Server-054/055/056, Contracts-020/021/022, Tests-036/038/039,
IntegrationTests-030/031/032 (+033 deferred to live rig),
Client.Dotnet-026/028/029 (+027 won't-fix), Client.Go-030..034,
Client.Python-032..036, Client.Rust-033..038.

Key fix: SessionEventDistributor orphaned a subscriber that registered after
the pump completed but before disposal (Server-056) -> register paths now
complete late registrants under _lifecycleLock; regression test added. The
racy dashboard-mirror gRPC test made deterministic (Tests-039).

Verified green locally: gateway Tests targeted classes (GatewaySession,
SessionEventDistributor, GatewayOptionsValidator, ProtobufContractRoundTrip,
GatewaySessionDashboardMirror) + dotnet/go/python/rust client suites.

Joseph Doherty 85e4334bb7 docs(contracts): clarify ReplayGap drain-exclusion and resume-boundary semantics
Add two comment-only clarifications to mxaccess_gateway.proto (no field/number changes):
1. MxEvent.replay_gap: states the sentinel is ONLY ever set on StreamEvents events
   and is ALWAYS unset on DrainEventsReply events, preventing Task 12 from
   accidentally emitting it on the drain path and removing any client ambiguity.
2. ReplayGap.oldest_available_sequence: clarifies that the value IS retained and
   replayable, and that a client resumes gap-free by setting
   after_worker_sequence = oldest_available_sequence - 1 in the next
   StreamEventsRequest (receiving events starting at oldest_available_sequence).

Joseph Doherty bd1d1f1c0e Resolve Contracts-016..017
Contracts-016 (Conventions): QueryActiveAlarmsRequest.session_id header
replaced with the unambiguous "Clients may leave session_id empty; the
gateway currently ignores it and serves the session-less central-monitor
cache. A future version may use it to scope the snapshot to one
session." Removes the ambiguity that the prior "reserved for future
use" wording introduced.

Contracts-017 (Documentation): The rpc QueryActiveAlarms comment now
includes the alarm_filter_prefix description: "QueryActiveAlarmsRequest.alarm_filter_prefix
optionally narrows the snapshot to alarms whose alarm_full_reference
starts with the given prefix; an empty prefix returns the full set."

Both are proto-comment-only changes — no wire-format impact, no field
renumbering, and the regenerated MxaccessGateway.cs / MxaccessGatewayGrpc.cs
carry only the doc-comment delta. Added the additive-only regression
guard QueryActiveAlarmsRequest_PinsFieldNumbersAndRoundTripsPrefixFilter
to ProtobufContractRoundTripTests — pins
session_id=1 / client_correlation_id=2 / alarm_filter_prefix=3 by
descriptor lookup and round-trips the message with and without the
filter populated.

Verification: dotnet build src/ZB.MOM.WW.MxGateway.slnx clean;
ProtobufContractRoundTripTests 40/40 passing.

Joseph Doherty 397d3c5c4f rename: apply ZB.MOM.WW prefix to all client SDKs + fix pre-existing alarm-RPC breaks
Rename across every client surface using each language's idiomatic convention:

  * .NET   clients/dotnet/MxGateway.Client[.Cli|.Tests]/
             -> clients/dotnet/ZB.MOM.WW.MxGateway.Client[.Cli|.Tests]/
             namespaces -> ZB.MOM.WW.MxGateway.Client[.Cli|.Tests]
             contracts ProjectReference repointed to ZB.MOM.WW.MxGateway.Contracts
             sln migrated to slnx (dotnet sln migrate)
  * Python src/mxgateway -> src/zb_mom_ww_mxgateway
             src/mxgateway_cli -> src/zb_mom_ww_mxgateway_cli
             distribution: mxaccess-gateway-client -> zb-mom-ww-mxaccess-gateway-client
  * Rust   crate: mxgateway-client -> zb-mom-ww-mxgateway-client
             build.rs proto path repointed
  * Java   subprojects: mxgateway-{client,cli} -> zb-mom-ww-mxgateway-{client,cli}
             packages com.dohertylan.mxgateway -> com.zb.mom.ww.mxgateway
             group   com.dohertylan.mxgateway -> com.zb.mom.ww.mxgateway
             rootProject mxaccessgw-java -> zb-mom-ww-mxaccessgw-java
  * Go generate-proto.ps1 proto path repointed; module path and
             package mxgateway kept (Go convention).
  * proto-inputs.json: generatedOutputs.python updated to new package path.
  * scripts/run-client-e2e-tests.ps1: Java CLI install path + gradle task
             updated to zb-mom-ww-mxgateway-cli.

CLI binary names (mxgw, mxgw-py, mxgw-go, mxgateway-cli) and wire-level
identifiers (MXGATEWAY_* env vars, the mxgw_<id>_<secret> API key
prefix, protobuf package names like mxaccess_gateway.v1, all MXAccess
references) intentionally NOT renamed.

Fix pre-existing alarms-over-gateway breaks unblocked by the rename:

  * mxaccess_gateway.proto: add missing public message QueryActiveAlarmsRequest
    {session_id, client_correlation_id, alarm_filter_prefix} and missing
    rpc QueryActiveAlarms(QueryActiveAlarmsRequest) returns
    (stream ActiveAlarmSnapshot). All four typed clients referenced
    these but they were absent from the proto.
  * MxAccessGatewayService.QueryActiveAlarms: implement the new RPC on
    the server, streaming from IGatewayAlarmService.CurrentAlarms with
    optional alarm_filter_prefix filter.
  * clients/dotnet/.../DiscoverHierarchyOptions.cs: add the hand-written
    .NET POCO that wraps DiscoverHierarchyRequest (referenced by
    GalaxyRepositoryClient.DiscoverHierarchyAsync but never authored).
  * Drop retired session_id field references from
    AcknowledgeAlarmRequest/AcknowledgeAlarmReply test fixtures across
    .NET, Rust, Go, and Python clients.
  * Rust integration test: add the missing stream_alarms impl on the
    fake MxAccessGateway server (the trait gained the method, fake
    didn't).
  * Rust CLI test: bump expected gatewayProtocolVersion 2 -> 3.

Regenerated artifacts updated in this commit:
  * src/ZB.MOM.WW.MxGateway.Contracts/Generated/{MxaccessGateway,MxaccessGatewayGrpc}.cs
  * clients/python/src/zb_mom_ww_mxgateway/generated/*_pb2{,_grpc}.py
  * clients/go/internal/generated/*.pb.go
(C# regenerated by Grpc.Tools on contracts build; Python and Go via
their generate-proto.ps1 scripts; Rust regenerates from .proto via
tonic-build at compile time so no checked-in artefact.)

Verification: 472 server tests, 275 worker tests (9 dev-rig skipped),
18 integration tests (live MxAccess + LDAP + Galaxy), 57 .NET client
tests, 32 Rust workspace tests, 39 Python tests, all Go packages, and
gradle build for Java all pass.

Joseph Doherty dc9c0c950c rename: prefix gateway projects/namespaces with ZB.MOM.WW + sln→slnx
Apply the ZB.MOM.WW. prefix to all gateway-side projects, folders,
.csproj/.sln contents, C# namespaces, using directives, generated proto
C# (csharp_namespace + checked-in generated files), InternalsVisibleTo
attributes, project-name string literals (LoadProject, .sln lookups,
worker exe paths, staticwebassets manifest), and the install/script/doc
references that point at any of the above. Migrate the solution from
.sln to .slnx via `dotnet sln migrate` and delete the old file.

External-runtime identifiers are intentionally NOT prefixed so external
configuration keeps working:
- GatewayMetrics.cs MeterName ("MxGateway.Server")
- DashboardAuthenticationDefaults Scheme/Policy ("MxGateway.Dashboard")
- GatewayRequestLoggingMiddleware logger category ("MxGateway.Request")
- StaRuntime thread name ("MxGateway.Worker.STA")
- appsettings.json root section "MxGateway" + env-var prefix
  MxGateway__... and secret-name MxGateway:ApiKeyPepper
- C:\ProgramData\MxGateway\ data dir paths

Also fixes two tests that were not rename-related but became visible
while validating the rename:

- WorkerLiveMxAccessSmokeTests.ShutDownAsync: cancellation that the
  gateway service correctly maps to RpcException(Cancelled) per gRPC
  convention was being misclassified as a stream fault. Added a sibling
  catch on RpcException with StatusCode.Cancelled.

- IntegrationTestEnvironment.ResolveRepositoryRoot: extracted IsRepositoryRoot
  and made it accept either a .git marker OR a .sln/.slnx next to src/
  so the worker-exe walker works in non-git working copies.

clients/proto/proto-inputs.json's protoRoot updated to point at
src/ZB.MOM.WW.MxGateway.Contracts/Protos.

Verified by `dotnet build` and a full `dotnet test` of the .slnx with
MXGATEWAY_RUN_LIVE_{MXACCESS,LDAP,GALAXY}_TESTS=1:
  Tests: 472/472 pass
  Worker.Tests: 280/280 pass (4 dev-rig [Fact(Skip=...)] skipped)
  IntegrationTests: 18/18 pass
