The tier system was documented, operator-authorable, and inert. Deleted rather than activated,
because its premise is gone rather than merely unused.
"Tier C" meant a driver running out-of-process behind an IDriverSupervisor that could restart its
Host without tearing down the OPC UA session. No such process exists anywhere: Galaxy reaches
MXAccess over gRPC to the external mxaccessgw sidecar (PR 7.2 retired the in-process
Galaxy.Host/Proxy/Shared projects) and FOCAS has run in-process since its managed wire client
landed 2026-04-24. Consistently, IDriverSupervisor had ZERO implementations and there was nothing
for one to implement against.
The issue understated the inertness. It says the Tier-C-only protections never engaged, implying
the Tier A/B parts did. They did not: nothing constructs MemoryTracking, MemoryRecycle or
ScheduledRecycleScheduler outside their own unit tests, so the whole Core/Stability recycle layer
was dead — meaning option (a), "pass real tiers", was never a flag flip. It would have meant
writing the wiring that never existed AND arming it.
Deleted: MemoryTracking, MemoryRecycle, ScheduledRecycleScheduler, IDriverSupervisor, the
vestigial DriverTypeRegistry (referenced only by its own tests), and the RecycleIntervalSeconds
knob — which the AdminUI let an operator author and the parser validated while it configured
nothing.
DriverTier itself SURVIVES and is load-bearing: DriverResilienceOptions.GetTierDefaults supplies
the real per-capability timeout/retry/breaker policies via DriverFactoryRegistry.GetTier and
DriverCapabilityInvokerFactory. Only the isolation-and-recycle layer above it is gone.
Deliberately NOT deleted:
- WedgeDetector came along in the same directory and is equally dead in production, but it is
tier-agnostic and is not recycle machinery — it only shares the folder. Restored rather than
swept up in a decision that was not about it.
- IDriver.GetMemoryFootprint() and FlushOptionalCachesAsync() lose their only consumer here.
Removing them touches all 12 drivers and every test stub, so they are documented as
consumerless and filed as #525 instead of buried in this diff.
Compatibility: a deployed ResilienceConfig blob still carrying "recycleIntervalSeconds" parses
cleanly (unknown keys are ignored — guarded by a new test, because a blob that suddenly failed to
parse would fall back to tier defaults and silently discard the operator's real overrides), and
the AdminUI's preserve-unknown-keys bag keeps the key rather than rewriting stored config on an
unrelated edit.
The 01/U-6 knob-inertness guard carried an explicit carve-out admitting RecycleIntervalSeconds was
dormant and out of scope; that carve-out is now gone, so the expected set is literally what the
test's name claims.
Note: Host.IntegrationTests has 2 failures (DriverProbeRegistrationTests.is_idempotent,
PrimaryGateFailoverTests) — verified pre-existing by reproducing both on clean master dc9d947b.

tag gate, and fix three silently-broken OpcUaClient integration tests
Continues working through deferment.md's remaining items.
SKIPPED TESTS (13 -> 0 for this reason). The skip said "dark until Batch 4";
Batch 4 shipped as v3.0 and RETIRED the equipment-tag path rather than lighting
it, so every one of them was waiting on something that had already happened and
gone the other way. Resolved individually rather than in bulk:
- REVIVED onto the raw/UNS shape (6): four DriverHostActor primary-gate cases,
the cluster-scoping rebuild, and the real-SDK dual-namespace materialisation
E2E. The behaviour never went dark, only the v2 seeding did.
- FOLDED into a live parity test (3): DeploymentArtifactRawUnsParityTests
already compared RawTagPlan record-equal and RawTagPlan carries array /
historize / alarm intent, so widening its corpus by two tags covers what
three empty placeholder suites had been promising. Those suites are deleted.
- DELETED (4): subjects genuinely retired -- equipment-namespace EquipmentTags,
and both dot-joint {{equip}}.X token suites (that resolver was deleted in
Batch 3; the slash-joint form is covered by DeploymentArtifactEquipRefParityTests).
Falsified, not assumed: removing the seeded UnsTagReference turns two revived
primary-gate tests red; re-homing the SITE-A node to MAIN turns the scoping test
red. Widening a parity corpus also needed direct value assertions -- parity alone
cannot distinguish "both seams right" from "both seams blind".
Runtime.Tests skips 13->3, OpcUaServer.Tests 4->1; all remaining are deliberate
EquipmentDeviceBindingRetired tombstones.
G-7 (deploy-time TagConfig gate). MQTT shipped an Inspect() nobody ever called;
now wired. Replaced the hand-maintained list with a reflection guard, because the
existing test enumerates driver types by hand and so guards renames but can never
notice a gap. NOTE: the first version of that guard was hollow -- it discovered
candidates via GetReferencedAssemblies(), which is circular, since the compiler
elides a reference nothing in the IL uses. Removing MQTT from the map also removed
its Contracts assembly from the manifest, and the guard passed green with the bug
reintroduced. Rewritten to scan the output directory; re-falsified and it now
fails naming MqttTagDefinitionFactory. Residual recorded at the code: Sql,
MTConnect, Calculation and OpcUaClient have no Contracts-side Inspect at all, so
the deploy gate stays weaker than the AdminUI's authoring gate for them.
OPCUACLIENT INTEGRATION TESTS (3 of 4 failing, on master too). Not fixture rot:
the simulator was healthy and Client.CLI read the very same node Good. v3 made the
driver resolve every reference through its authored RawTags table, so a bare
"ns=3;s=StepUp" fails LOCALLY at the resolver with BadNodeIdInvalid and never
reaches the wire -- the tests were exercising the unresolved-reference guard.
Fixed by seeding OpcPlcProfile.RawTags in the deploy artifact's TagConfig shape
and addressing by RawPath. 4/4 pass.
DOCS. Applied the Phase7* -> AddressSpace* rename across the four live docs
(historical bannered files deliberately untouched), resolving the three that are
not renames to their real members. Found en route that the earlier banner pass
missed three files: VirtualTags.md, OpcUaServer.md and ScriptedAlarms.md all
still presented the test-scaffolding GenericDriverNodeManager as the production
dispatch path. All three now carry the correction.

Adds deferment.md — a source-verified inventory of new-driver status, all 17
open issues, in-code deferrals, open live gates and plan bookkeeping. Every
claim was checked against src/ and git, not against documentation.
Headline finding: three subsystems are authored, persisted and shipped but
never executed —
* Node ACLs: IPermissionEvaluator/TriePermissionEvaluator have zero
production consumers and OtOpcUaNodeManager never references them, yet
ClusterAcls.razor authors NodeAcl rows and ConfigComposer.cs:51 ships them
in every artifact. An authored deny rule has no effect.
* IRediscoverable / IHostConnectivityProbe raise into the void (#518/#507);
nothing ever writes a DriverHostStatus row.
* DriverTypeRegistry is vestigial, so no factory passes a tier and every
driver runs Tier A with the Tier-C protections dormant.
Also records the Calculation driver as picker-visible but unauthorable
(DriverConfigModal has no case) — the "registered but unauthorable" class
recurring after the Sql picker defect — and notes that no parity test guards
DriverConfigModal/DeviceModal, which is why it survived review.
Documentation corrections (source-verified):
* ReadWriteOperations.md claimed "a denied read never hits the driver" via
four types that do not exist in src/. Bannered + struck through; a security
review reading that page would have concluded a per-node ACL gate exists.
* CLAUDE.md: the Change Detection sentence was false (DriverHost consumes
nothing); the mesh Phase 4 and Phase 5 live gates and the auto-down 1-vs-1
gate had all PASSED; the ScriptedAlarmState table was already dropped.
* driver-expansion tracking: Modbus RTU and SQL poll are merged, not
pending — its command table would have made someone rebuild two shipped
drivers in a fresh worktree.
* drivers/README.md: dead DriverTypeRegistry paragraph, retired
SystemPlatform namespace kind, missing Sql + Calculation rows, missing
Modbus RTU-over-TCP transport.
* TwinCAT.md/Galaxy.md promised an address-space rebuild that never happens.
* Historian.md gained the #491 unproven-value-capture pointer.
* IncrementalSync.md and AddressSpace.md bannered as wholesale v2-era (the
rewrite is recorded as still owed, not done here); four v2 status docs
bannered as historical; three wrong-name-for-a-live-type fixes.
Left deliberately untouched: the secrets NoOpSecretReplicator line, which
makes a security claim and needs the real behaviour identified rather than a
rename.
STRUCTURAL: no broken links/paths for this doc (links-report had zero rows);
check_links.py confirms zero rows. All cited src paths verified on disk.
STALE-STATUS (v1->v2):
- Removed v1 'two separate Server/Admin processes' framing; documented the
single role-gated Host binary + OTOPCUA_ROLES gate
(src/Server/ZB.MOM.WW.OtOpcUa.Host/Program.cs; AkkaClusterOptions.cs).
- Server class is OtOpcUaSdkServer (not 'OtOpcUaServer'); it wires ONE
OtOpcUaNodeManager via CreateMasterNodeManager, not one DriverNodeManager
per driver. OtOpcUaSdkServer.cs:12-26.
- Removed nonexistent OnServerStarted / LoadServerProperties overrides and
the 'DriverNodeManagers' member (no such member; grep found none).
CODE-REALITY (doc corrected to match source; no code changed):
- Class name: OtOpcUaSdkServer : StandardServer — OtOpcUaSdkServer.cs:12.
- Address space: OtOpcUaNodeManager : CustomNodeManager2, namespace
'https://zb.com/otopcua/ns', single 'OtOpcUa' root folder; push-driven via
IOpcUaAddressSpaceSink — OtOpcUaNodeManager.cs:25,27,225-251.
- Impersonation lives in OpcUaApplicationHost (not the SDK server). Uses
IOpcUaUserAuthenticator, attaches a UserIdentity (NOT RoleBasedIdentity/
IRoleBearer — neither exists), Anonymous+X509 fall through to SDK default,
failures -> BadIdentityTokenRejected (not BadIdentityTokenInvalid).
OpcUaApplicationHost.cs:159-288.
- Certificate stores default to PkiStoreRoot='pki' (relative to cwd), NOT
%LOCALAPPDATA%. Substores own/issuer/trusted/rejected.
AutoAcceptUntrustedClientCertificates default=false (doc had
Security.AutoAcceptClientCertificates default=true; key does not exist).
Removed RejectSHA1Certificates claim (not present).
OpcUaApplicationHost.cs:51,71,298-355.
- Security profiles: EnabledSecurityProfiles default = all three baseline
profiles, one endpoint per profile; not 'resolved from ServerInstance.Security
JSON, default None'. Endpoint path is .../OtOpcUa. OpcUaApplicationHost.cs:59-64,321.
- Dispatch: CapabilityInvoker is one per (DriverInstance, IDriver); pipeline
keyed (DriverInstanceId, hostName, DriverCapability). Enum member is
'Discover' (not 'Discovery'). Alarm surfaces route via AlarmSurfaceInvoker
(SubscribeAlarmsAsync/UnsubscribeAlarmsAsync/AcknowledgeAsync), per-host
fan-out. CapabilityInvoker.cs:7-19,61-156; AlarmSurfaceInvoker.cs:5-51;
DriverCapability.cs:20-41. OTOPCUA0001 analyzer is category OtOpcUa.Resilience,
severity Warning — UnwrappedCapabilityCallAnalyzer.cs:67; AnalyzerReleases.Shipped.md:10.
- Authorization: removed nonexistent AuthorizationGate / NodeScopeResolver /
Authorization:StrictMode / lax-strict mode / WriteAuthzPolicy. Documented the
real permission-trie infra under Core/Authorization/ (PermissionTrie,
TriePermissionEvaluator, NodeScope, UserAuthorizationState, AuthorizationDecision).
- Config DB: optimistic concurrency is RowVersion (per-entity), not a
'DraftRevisionToken' (no such field). sp_PublishGeneration +
sp_ComputeGenerationDiff verified in Configuration migrations.
- Redundancy: ServiceLevel republished via SdkServiceLevelPublisher
(IServiceLevelPublisher); ServiceLevelCalculator 0-255. Dropped invented
'RedundantServerArray' node; standard props are RedundancySupport +
ServerUriArray. SdkServiceLevelPublisher.cs:9-58; ServiceLevelCalculator.cs:13-23.
INLINE COMPLETENESS: documented EnabledSecurityProfiles binding key in the
Transport section (inventory-diff G3 row owner).
Rewrite src/ and tests/ project paths in docs, CLAUDE.md, README.md, and
test-fixture READMEs to the new module-folder layout (Core/Server/Drivers/
Client/Tooling). References to retired v1 projects (Galaxy.Host/Proxy/Shared,
the legacy monolithic test projects) are left untouched.

Rewrite seven core-architecture docs to match the shipped multi-driver platform.
The v1 single-driver LmxNodeManager framing is replaced with the Core +
capability-interface model — Galaxy is now one driver of seven, and each doc
points at the current class names + source paths.
What changed per file:
- OpcUaServer.md — OtOpcUaServer as StandardServer host; per-driver
DriverNodeManager + CapabilityInvoker wiring; Config-DB-driven configuration
(sp_PublishGeneration, DraftRevisionToken, Admin UI); Phase 6.2
AuthorizationGate integration.
- AddressSpace.md — GenericDriverNodeManager.BuildAddressSpaceAsync walks
ITagDiscovery.DiscoverAsync and streams DriverAttributeInfo through
IAddressSpaceBuilder; CapturingBuilder registers alarm-condition sinks;
per-driver NodeId schemes replace the fixed ns=1;s=ZB root.
- ReadWriteOperations.md — OnReadValue / OnWriteValue dispatch to
IReadable.ReadAsync / IWritable.WriteAsync through CapabilityInvoker,
honoring WriteIdempotentAttribute (#143); two-layer authorization
(WriteAuthzPolicy + Phase 6.2 AuthorizationGate).
- Subscriptions.md — ISubscribable.SubscribeAsync/UnsubscribeAsync is the
capability surface; STA-thread story is now Galaxy-specific (StaPump inside
Driver.Galaxy.Host), other drivers are free-threaded.
- AlarmTracking.md — IAlarmSource is optional; AlarmSurfaceInvoker wraps
Subscribe/Ack/Unsubscribe with fan-out by IPerCallHostResolver and the
no-retry AlarmAcknowledge pipeline (#143); CapturingBuilder registers sinks
at build time.
- DataTypeMapping.md — DriverDataType + SecurityClassification are the
driver-agnostic enums; per-driver mappers (GalaxyProxyDriver inline,
AbCipDataType, ModbusDriver, etc.); SecurityClassification is metadata only,
ACL enforcement is at the server layer.
- IncrementalSync.md — IRediscoverable covers backend-change signals;
sp_ComputeGenerationDiff + DiffViewer drive generation-level change
detection; IDriver.ReinitializeAsync is the in-process recovery path.
Renames all 11 projects (5 src + 6 tests), the .slnx solution file, all source-file namespaces, all axaml namespace references, and all v1 documentation references in CLAUDE.md and docs/*.md (excluding docs/v2/ which is already in OtOpcUa form). Also updates the TopShelf service registration name from "LmxOpcUa" to "OtOpcUa" per Phase 0 Task 0.6.
Preserves runtime identifiers per Phase 0 Out-of-Scope rules to avoid breaking v1/v2 client trust during coexistence: OPC UA `ApplicationUri` defaults (`urn:{GalaxyName}:LmxOpcUa`), server `EndpointPath` (`/LmxOpcUa`), `ServerName` default (feeds cert subject CN), `MxAccessConfiguration.ClientName` default (defensive — stays "LmxOpcUa" for MxAccess audit-trail consistency), client OPC UA identifiers (`ApplicationName = "LmxOpcUaClient"`, `ApplicationUri = "urn:localhost:LmxOpcUaClient"`, cert directory `%LocalAppData%\LmxOpcUaClient\pki\`), and the `LmxOpcUaServer` class name (class rename out of Phase 0 scope per Task 0.5 sed pattern; happens in Phase 1 alongside `LmxNodeManager → GenericDriverNodeManager` Core extraction). 23 LmxOpcUa references retained, all enumerated and justified in `docs/v2/implementation/exit-gate-phase-0.md`.
Build clean: 0 errors, 30 warnings (lower than baseline 167). Tests at strict improvement over baseline: 821 passing / 1 failing vs baseline 820 / 2 (one flaky pre-existing failure passed this run; the other still fails — both pre-existing and unrelated to the rename). `Client.UI.Tests`, `Historian.Aveva.Tests`, `Client.Shared.Tests`, `IntegrationTests` all match baseline exactly. Exit gate compliance results recorded in `docs/v2/implementation/exit-gate-phase-0.md` with all 7 checks PASS or DEFERRED-to-PR-review (#7 service install verification needs Windows service permissions on the reviewer's box).

The aahClientManaged SDK is now isolated in ZB.MOM.WW.LmxOpcUa.Historian.Aveva and loaded via HistorianPluginLoader from a Historian/ subfolder only when enabled, removing the SDK from Host's compile-time and deploy-time surface.

Add ServerCapabilities/OperationLimits node, enable diagnostics, add OnModifyMonitoredItemsComplete
override for DA compliance. Wire shelving, enable/disable, confirm, and addcomment handlers on
alarm conditions with LocalTime/Quality event fields for Part 9 compliance. Add Aes128/Aes256
security profiles, X.509 certificate authentication, and AUDIT-prefixed auth logging. Fix flaky
probe monitor test. Update docs for all changes.

Map LDAP groups to custom OPC UA role NodeIds on RoleBasedIdentity.GrantedRoleIds
during authentication, replacing the username-to-role side cache. Split ReadWrite
into WriteOperate/WriteTune/WriteConfigure so write access is gated per Galaxy
security classification. AnonymousCanWrite now behaves consistently regardless
of LDAP state.

- Remove ConfigUserAuthenticationProvider and Users property — LDAP is the only auth mechanism
- Fix historian quality mapping to use existing QualityMapper (OPC DA quality bytes, not custom mapping)
- Add AppRoles constants, unify HasWritePermission/HasAlarmAckPermission into shared HasRole helper
- Hoist write permission check out of per-item loop, eliminate redundant _ldapRolesEnabled field
- Update docs (Configuration.md, Security.md, OpcUaServer.md, HistoricalDataAccess.md)

Separates ApplicationUri from namespace identity so each instance in a
redundant pair has a unique server URI while sharing the same Galaxy
namespace. Exposes RedundancySupport, ServerUriArray, and dynamic
ServiceLevel through the standard OPC UA server object. ServiceLevel
is computed from role (Primary/Secondary) and runtime health (MXAccess
and DB connectivity). Adds CLI redundancy command, second deployed
service instance, and 31 new tests including paired-server integration.

Adds Security section to appsettings.json with configurable OPC UA
transport profiles (None, Basic256Sha256-Sign, Basic256Sha256-SignAndEncrypt),
certificate policy settings, and a configurable BindAddress for the
OPC UA endpoint. Defaults preserve backward compatibility.

Implements configurable user authentication (anonymous + username/password)
with pluggable credential provider (IUserAuthenticationProvider). Anonymous
writes can be disabled via AnonymousCanWrite setting while reads remain
open. Adds -U/-P flags to all CLI commands for authenticated sessions.
